Dental assistant academy opens in North Carolina 

Royal Dental Assistant Academy in Gastonia, N.C., a dental assistant school, opened on May 13, according to a May 25 report by Gaston Gazette.

The school has an accelerated 12-week dental assistant program to increase the supply of the profession. 

The academy was founded by Lupe Torres and Modesta Vera, who both have worked as dental assistants at practices in Charlotte, N.C.

Royal Dental Assistant Academy is the first school for dental assistants in the county, the report said.
