The dental industry has seen slight improvements in employment growth over the last 12 months, according to the American Dental Association’s “State of the U.S. Dental Economy” report for the second quarter of 2026.
The ADA recently released its “State of the U.S. economy” report for the second quarter of 2026. The report includes economic data for dental practices as well as information on consumer dental spending, staffing and various industry challenges.
The report shows that overall job growth began accelerating in the U.S. after February. Job growth also picked up after February for the dental sector specifically. The total number of jobs grew 1.5% over the previous 12 months in June after two years of stagnation.
The ADA noted that while the data could show early signs that staffing issues are easing, it’s too soon for definitive conclusions to be drawn.
