Four things to know:
1. HB 21 and SB 82 set requirements for licensure and would create a council to recommend rules and policies for dental therapy in the state.
2. Both legislators filed similar bills during the 2024 legislative session, but both died in committee.
3. Several organizations supported last year’s efforts to add dental therapy, except the Florida Dental Association.
4. Dental therapists are currently authorized in 14 states.
