The College of Eastern Idaho in Idaho Falls has launched a dental hygiene program, the Post Register reported April 1.

The college recently received accreditation from the Commission on Dental Accreditation and will welcome its first class of students in August. Ten students will be admitted to the two-year program every fall.

The students will help expand access to care by treating patients under the supervision of a licensed dentist at the college’s on-campus dental clinic.

The program aims to address the shortage of dental hygienists in the region.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence. Apply for complimentary registration now.
