The Louisiana legislature has voted to enter the state into the Interstate Dental & Dental Hygiene Licensure Compact.

The compact, backed by the American Association of Dental Boards, aims to streamline dental licensing, alleviate workforce shortages and improve access to oral healthcare.

House Bill 543 was filed in April and was passed by the House in May. The Senate voted to pass the bill earlier this month. The bill has been sent to Gov. Jeff Landry for final approval.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
