The site is at Louisiana State University of Alexandria’s downtown campus and is the first dental hygiene program in Central Louisiana, according to an Oct. 18 new release from LSUA.
The two-year bachelor of science program will have six students each year. The courses covered include oral diagnosis, radiology and physiology.
LSU and LSUA have been trying to launch the program since 2019. The Alexandria facility underwent renovations and the program began this fall, the release said.
