The New Mexico House of Representatives unanimously passed legislation to join the Dentist & Dental Hygienist Compact.

The Dentist & Dental Hygienist Compact is one of two initiatives aimed at improving license portability for dentists and dental hygienists between participating states. The DDHC has been enacted in 12 states so far, with several other states having pending legislation to join.

The state House passed the bill Jan. 28, advancing it to the Senate for consideration. The bill is one of seven others passed by the House to join interstate compacts for various fields to improve healthcare accessibility, the Los Alamos Daily Post reported.
