These dental roles will grow by a combined 71,100 jobs by 2030

Dentists, dental assistants and dental hygienist jobs are expected to grow by 71,100 through 2030, according to new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Number of jobs in 2020: 139,200

Job growth rate, 2020-30: 8 percent

Employment change, 2020-30: 11,100

Dental assistant

Number of jobs in 2020: 330,200

Job growth rate, 2020-30: 11 percent

Employment change, 2020-30: 36,900

Dental hygienists

Number of jobs in 2020: 206,100

Job growth rate, 2020-30: 11 percent
