Mid-State Technical College has opened a $3.5 million dental clinic in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., to support its new dental hygiene and dental assistant programs, according to an Oct. 19 report from ABC affiliate WSAW.
The program will serve up to 10 dental hygiene and 10 dental assistant students each semester.
The new clinic includes simulation labs, dental imaging rooms and dental chairs.
Dental hygiene students in the program are currently taking entry-level courses and will begin their dental hygiene program classes in the fall.
“The dental community could not be a better partner for Mid-State,” Chris Severson, EdD, vice president of student affairs at the college, said in the report. “They’ve really allowed us through their feedback and through their engagement to get us to this point.”
