Zimmer Biomet completes dental, spine spinoff

Zimmer Biomet Holdings has completed the separation of its dental and spine businesses to create ZimVie.

The Warsaw, Ind.-based company announced its plans to create the spinoff in February 2021. It soon appointed Vafa Jamali as CEO, when the spinoff was called NewCo.

ZimVie in a March 1 news release also announced its board of directors, made up of six healthcare executives, including former Labcorp CEO David King and Richard Kuntz, MD, senior vice president and chief medical and scientific officer of Medtronic.
