The packaging is made from high-density polyethylene and is the first to be recognized by external recycling authorities, the company said in a Feb. 17 news release.

Colgate is also using “Recycle Me!” graphics on the packaging to alert consumers and materials recovery facilities that the toothpaste tubes are recyclable.

The new packaging is a part of a pilot program to identify best practices for toothpaste tube recycling.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
