Over-all health may be closely linked with dental health, according to the Delta Dental Oral Health and Well-Being Survey. Here are nine statistics on oral health in the United States.

•    Americans who go to the dentist at least once a year are 22 percent more likely to report overall well-being as good as or better than those who rarely go to the dentist.
•    Americans who go to the dentist at least once a year are 37 percent more likely to report their oral health as good as or better than those who rarely go to the dentist.
•    86 percent of Americans earning $100,000 a year or more visit the dentist at least once a year.
•    46 percent of Americans making less than $25,000 a year visit the dentist at least once a year.
•    83 percent of college-educated adults have regular dentist visits.
•    59 percent of adults without a college education have regular dentist visits.
•    75 percent of adults in the Northeastern United States visit the dentist regularly.
•    60 percent of adults in the Southern United States visit the dentist regularly.
•    Americans who have dental coverage are 14 percent more likely to report their well-being as good as or better than those without coverage.
