Altarum Institute wins $9.4M CMS award to improve pediatric oral health in Michigan

Altarum Institute, a research and consulting company that aims at improving healthcare, received an award of $9.4 million from the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation to reduce the burden of childhood dental disease in Michigan.

Altarum, in collaboration with the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, Delta Dental of Michigan and the Michigan Department of Community Health will work together to improve the pediatric oral health. The collaboration will better target preventive services for high-risk children and will also put a statewide dental quality monitoring program in place.

The award is part of CMS’ Health Care Innovation Program.
