William Coppola, DDS, and the associate dentists and staff of Northeast Children’s Dentistry won their fifth consecutive Talk of The Town Customer Satisfaction Award in the Health & Medical — Dentists category.

Rick Jackowski, DDS, and dentists at Pleasant Family Dentists will provide free dental care for the first 100 patients to attend its 4th annual Dentistry From The Heart event, according to Counton 2.

James Specter, DDS, died in a small plane crash in Alaska. Dr. Specter practiced at Oral Surgery Associates in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., according to WNEP.

Kent Cherry, DDS, joined Advantage Dental in John Day, Ore., according to Blue Mountain Eagle.

The American College of Prosthodontists will award Dennis Tarnow, DDS, the Distinguished Lecturer Award. Dr. Tarnow will receive the award during the 45th annual session of the ACP held in Orlando, Fla., from Oct 21 to Oct. 24.

Poonam Jain, DDS, professor at the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and director of community dentistry, and other dentists will treat 300 children at SIU’s Give Kids a Smile Day. The event will take place on Mon., Oct. 12, according to The Telegraph.
