HealthpointCapital sells MicroDental Laboratories, continues involvement in obstructive sleep apnea devices: 5 things to know

New York City-based private equity firm HealthpointCapital has completed the sale of the international dental laboratory network MicroDental Laboratories.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. The firm sold MicroDental Laboratories to Modern Dental Group Limited, a global provider of dental prosthetic devices.

2. HealthpointCapital retained ProSomnus Sleep Technologies, a former division of MicroDental Laboratories, in the transaction.

3. ProSomnus Sleep Technologies manufactures oral appliances for obstructive sleep apnea and supports research concerning dental sleep medicine as therapy for obstructive sleep apnea.

4. Len Liptak has been named the CEO of ProSomnus Sleep Technologies.

5. The global obstructive sleep apnea market for therapeutic devices is expected to reach $6 billion by 2020, growing at a CAGR of 9 percent.
