Once the digital systems are fully implemented, all patient data will be stored in a comprehensive digital record, according to the report. Students will be able to access the data remotely and plan comprehensive courses of treatment without needing to see the patient.
“A long time in the making, this important initiative using Sirona Dental Systems, Inc., technology will allow the school to achieve its goal of implementing seamless digital dentistry into the clinical education we provide our students and residents and the oral healthcare we provide our patient,” said the dental school dean Jeffrey W. Hutter, DMD, according to the report.
