National Dental Laboratory Association works to raise awareness about insufficient restoration regulations: 3 things to know

The National Dental Laboratory Association is launching a campaign, “What’s In Your Mouth?” to increase awareness about the lack of dental restoration regulations.

Here are three things to know:

1. While the FDA often monitors sleep device manufacturing, the agency often fails to monitor other dental devices and restorations.

2. Additionally, regulations do not mandate dental lab techniques have specific training, a formal education or demonstrate core competency.

3. Through awareness, the National Association of Dental Laboratories hopes dentistS and dental labs understand their role in complying with regulations to ensure patient safety.
