Question: Where do you see the dental industry headed?
Heidi Arndt: I see two big changes taking place in the DSO space in the next five years. One exciting change taking place in dentistry as a whole is the increasing awareness of the connection between oral health and overall health, which will increase the value patients place on dental care. Patients will understand that you can’t be truly healthy until your oral health is addressed. This will lead to patients seeking care with a greater emphasis on prevention and early restorative care. Another change will be the increasing number of dentists who choose DSOs as their career homes. Todays and tomorrow’s dentists want to focus on patient care and want support for the business side of dentistry. DSOs offer that support and offer more flexibility and career options for the next generation of dentists.
