The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry names new president

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry has installed Dr. Thomas G. Ison, DMD, to serve as the organization’s next president. 

Dr. Ison is a private practice dentist in Newburgh, Ind. He has previously served as an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry and chief of dentistry at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Ky., according to a May 28 news release. 

The AAPD also installed the following appointees for the 2025-26 term:

  • Carlos Bertot, DMD, as president-elect
  • Jacob Lee, DDS, as vice president
  • Dr. Angela M. Stout, DMD, as secretary-treasurer
  • Bobby Thikkurissy, DDS, as parliamentarian
  • Sally Sue Lombardi, DDS, as American Board of Pediatric Dentistry director
  • Elizabeth “Liz” S. Gosnell, DMD, as international trustee
  • Scott B. Schwartz, DDS, as Northcentral district trustee
