The debate over dental sedation practices — Expert Dr. Ramond Dionne weighs in

On Monday night, TEAM 1500 is hosting a free national teleconference. Ramond Dionne, DDS, PhD, will discuss the topic, “Does the Route of Dental Sedation Matter?”

1. Dr. Dionne serves as a research professor at the East Carolina University’s School of Dental Medicine in Greenville, N.C.

2. He has published more than 100 scientific manuscripts on pain and pain control, and is the co-author of Management of Pain and Anxiety in Dental Practice.

3. Dr. Dionne previously served as the scientific director at the National Institute of Health’s National Institute of Nursing Research.

4. Dental sedation is a hot topic in the dental field, with many leaders in the industry divided on the best course of treatment. Dr. Dionne believes oral and intravenous dental sedation should not be considered equivalent methods of treatment.

5. He will address the clinical and scientific basis for his conclusions during the teleconference.
