Here are five things to know:

1. The device repairs teeth by “supercharging” the remineralization of tooth enamel.

2. The tooth is first conditioned and cleaned to separate any organic material or decayed tissue built up in the lesion. Once the tooth is clean, the tooth enamel is ready for the treatment.

3. The device is still undergoing clinical trials, but the dentists recreated the condition of the human mouth to test their several prototypes.

4. The new treatment is an innovative way to treat caries once the process starts. However, it in no way replaces the need for tooth brushing and cleaning.

5. Reminova is looking for more investments to enhance their device to become a model ready to be used by dentists. The device will cost around $10,000.
