Here’s what you need to know:
1. Every week, the mobile unit will offer free dental care to uninsured children up to 12 years of age at a different location in South Florida.
2. The mobile unit includes two operation suites and telehealth equipment which connects the dental assistants, dental resident and pediatric dentist who staff the mobile unit with providers at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
3. The mobile unit will offer screenings, assessments, varnish treatments, dental sealants and oral hygiene education, among other services.
4. Providers at the mobile unit will be able to provide patients with referrals for follow-up care, as well.
5. Nicklaus Children’s Hospital’s primary goal is to provide children with early intervention to reduce future oral health issues.
