The North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners took emergency action against the license of Paul Jeffrey Lowe, DMD, after allegedly receiving evidence that Dr. Lowe was impaired at his dental office and was unfit to practice.

Dr. Lowe’s license is suspended pending further review by the board, according to board records.

Dave Faherty, a reporter for WSOC-TV in Charlotte, N.C., posted a photo on Facebook April 16 showing a sign that states Dr. Lowe’s office is closed until an undisclosed date. The sign also states that the dental office would begin contacting patients once it reopens to reschedule appointments.
