4 state bills changing dentistry

Here are four bills affecting dental care:

1. Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro signed a bill into law requiring insurance companies to provide dental practices with multiple payment options.

2. The Illinois legislature approved a bill that will regulate third party financing in the dental industry. 

3. The “Live Healthy” legislative package in Florida went into effect Oct. 1, which allocates more than $30 million to raise Medicaid reimbursements for dentists.

4. The California legislature passed Senate Bill 1453 to expand licensure pathways for dental assistants and update the scope of practice for dental assistants.
