Dr. Swan opened his practice in Grant, Neb., in 1979. His last day is scheduled for Feb. 27.

Prior to announcing his retirement, Dr. Swan looked for a new owner to take over the practice but was unsuccessful.

Dr. Swan is considering donating his dental equipment to be used to treat patients in underserved countries and is planning to sell the building, the report said.
