5 federal government, policy updates for dentists to know

Here are five federal government and policy updates since Feb. 20:

1. More than 100 members of the American Association of Orthodontists met with federal lawmakers in Washington, D.C., to advocate for policies related to orthodontic care.

2. The American Dental Association voiced its support for several health policy issues affecting dentistry in a letter to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the new secretary of Health and Human Services.

3. The American Dental Association pushed the Environmental Protection Agency to support several dental initiatives.

4. The American Dental Association urged Congress to support dental coverage programs and workforce development initiatives.

5. State dental boards across the U.S. have done little to ensure their membership does not violate federal antitrust laws, according to a report from the Pacific Legal Foundation.
