Maine dentist disciplined for violating standards of care

The Maine Board of Dental Practice recently took action against a dentist for violating standards of care between 2023 and 2024, The Ellsworth American reported May 14. 

The board censured the license of Marc Horowitz, DDS, for allegedly failing to address tooth decay issues in a patient. Dr. Horowitz was also given a warning for altering patient records and failing to document treatment issues and discussions with a patient regarding a pause in medication.

Dr. Horowitz agreed to complete 16 hours of continuing education as part of an agreement with the state board.
