DSOs have had a busy year so far launching new programs, gaining investments and partnering with industry leaders to fuel organic and inorganic growth while enhancing patient care.
Here are 15 notable moves to know from 2025:
1. Dallas-based MB2 Dental launched Carabelli Club, an affiliate program for dentists that is designed after the organization’s partnership model. The program helps private practice dentists expand their business, streamline operations and access cost savings while maintaining independence and clinical autonomy.
2. ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers launched its Endura Elite full-arch restoration, which can be individually customized and are made using zirconia to look like real teeth. The product launch came shortly after ClearChoice announced it would begin offering a lifetime warranty on full-arch zirconia prostheses.
3. Southlake, Texas-based Allied OMS received a minority investment to expand its service offerings, complete acquisitions and scale operations. Global investment firm 65 Equity Partners led the transaction, with a co-investment from private capital investment firm Everberg Capital.
4. Jonesboro, Ark.-based GPS Dental integrated VideaHealth’s AI-powered platform into its network of more than 100 dental practices. Since deploying VideaAI, GPS Dental has seen a 19% increase in gross production per patient in restorative and periodontal care, as well as 32% growth in total crown production.
5. Chicago-based The Aspen Group partnered with the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias to provide free dental care to patients with ectodermal dysplasias. The two organizations launched the Smile Bridge program, which connects patients with ectodermal dysplasias between the ages of 2 and 22 with a clinician at an Aspen Dental or Clear Choice Dental Implant Centers location.
6. Cumming, Ga.-based OMS360 secured a credit facility from TPG Twin Brook Capital Partners, which includes a revolving credit facility and a delayed draw term loan.
7. Hackensack, N.J.-based Max Surgical Specialty Management secured a $77 million senior credit facility to fuel the company’s growth and expansion. With the additional funding, the oral and maxillofacial platform will focus on forming new partnerships throughout the Northeast.
8. New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Dental365 introduced its Advanced Learning Series to give Dental365 providers the opportunity for individual, experiential learning in a small group setting. The Advanced Learning Series consists of one-day lectures presented by a group of speakers.
9. Heartland Dental and Concorde Career Colleges broke ground on their first co-branded dental training campus in Fort Myers, Fla. The campus will train up to 190 hygienists and dental assistants each year.
10. Dana Point, Calif.-based Silver Creek Dental Partners closed a debt financing agreement with Ivy Asset Group, a private credit firm. The financing will support the DSO’s investments in its affiliated practices and continued expansion in California.
11. Denver-based Espire Dental partnered with Zollege, an operator of dental assistant schools, to expand access to dental assisting programs. Through the partnership, Espire Dental will launch 12-week dental assisting programs at its dental practices located in Lakewood, Loveland and Colorado Springs, Colo.
12. Miami-based Guardian Dentistry Partners selected Pearl and Planet DDS to provide AI and practice management softwares to its network.
13. Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health partnered with Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine in South Jordan, Utah, to provide students with hands-on clinical training. PDS Health will participate in Roseman’s DSO External Rotation Program, allowing students to treat patients under the supervision of licensed dental professionals.
14. Chicago-based DSO Aspen Dental partnered with dental product company The Ivoclar Group to launch its Signature Elite Denture. The new dentures were made using Ivoclar’s anterior and posterior tooth products and its IvoBase system.
15. Lexington, Ky.-based PepperPointe Partnerships graduated its first class of doctors from its leadership development program. The three-year program was launched in 2021 to help associate doctors learn soft and advanced skills in preparation for ownership. Ten out of the 15 graduating participants began transitioning into doctor ownership roles.
