Dr. Doug’s Pediatric Dentistry, a dental practice in Logan, Utah, provided notice of a recent data security incident.

In September 2024, the practice learned of unusual activity involving one of its email accounts. An investigation determined that only one email account was affected and there were no other systems or networks within the practice’s network that were impacted, according to an Aug. 14 news release from the practice.

Potentially affected data includes names, dates of birth, diagnosis or dental treatment information, Medicaid or dental insurance information, Social Security numbers and driver’s license information.

The practice arranged to send letters to all potentially affected individuals in June 2025, the release said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
