The University of Pikeville (Ky.) has received initial accreditation from the Commission on Dental Accreditation for its new dental school.
The Tanner College of Dental Medicine will be the first dental school in Eastern Kentucky and is expected to welcome its first class in June 2026.
The university is expected to begin construction for the dental school soon after it secured final funding earlier this month.
