Here are three notable acquisitions of dental technology companies that have taken place in recent months:
1. Dental 3D printing company SprintRay acquired the dental portfolio of EnvisionTEC, a global manufacturer of 3D printers. The acquisition includes patents, trademarks, inventory and other intellectual property related to EnvisionTEC’s dental materials and 3D printing technologies, according to a Sept. 2 news release.
2. Dental implant manufacturer ZimVie entered an agreement to merge its operations with Archimed, a healthcare-focused private equity firm. Each ZimVie stockholder will receive $19 in cash for each share of ZimVie common stock outstanding at the transaction’s closing.
3. MegaGen was approved by a judge to acquire Biolase’s assets for more than $20 million Nov. 15. The acquisition came after Biolase filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October 2024. MegaGen won the bid over Sonendo, which sought to purchase the company for $14 million.
