5 dental lawsuit updates to know

Here are five updates on dental lawsuits that Becker’s has reported on since Sept. 22:

1. The California Dental Association committed to pushing for dental reform after losing its appeal against Delta Dental of California.

2. A Michigan federal judge denied class certification in a lawsuit against Solstice Benefits. 

3. An Illinois federal judge denied a group of dental providers class certification in a lawsuit against Delta Dental.

4. Align Technology filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Angelalign. It also filed a complaint under Section 337 of the Tariff Act to block Angelalign from importing clear aligners.

5. The Minnesota Court of Appeals rejected a dental patient’s attempt to throw out a defamation lawsuit filed against them.
