Dr. Yang Chai installed as dean of USC’s dental school

The Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of the University of Southern California has installed Yang Chai, DDS, DMD, PhD, as its next president.

In addition to being dental school dean, Dr. Chai is University Professor of Dentistry, Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, and Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery at USC, according to an Oct. 9 news release from the university. 

Dr. Chai previously served as interim dean of the dental school before taking over in a permanent role.

He succeeds Avishai Sadan, DMD, who transitioned to the position of associate senior vice president for health sciences interprofessional education and curricular innovations, the release said.
