8 dental clinic expansions to know

Here are eight dental clinics in the U.S. that have added services or expanded their capacity this year:

1. Crescent Community Health Center in Dubuque, Iowa, completed a $3 million expansion to meet increased patient demand for dental services.

2. The Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Center in Abingdon, Va., broke ground on a project that will add seven operatories to its facility.

3. Warsaw, Ind.-based Bowen Health expanded its services to include dentistry for the first time.

4. Jordan Valley Community Health Center in Springfield, Mo., completed the first phase of a dental expansion project at one of its clinics.

5. Family Health Care expanded its clinic in Big Rapids, Mich., to include more space for dental care. 

6. Cleveland, Wis.-based Lakeshore College expanded its on-site dental clinic and launched a dental hygiene program with a $1.2 million grant.

7. Community Health Center of Fort Dodge (Iowa) announced it would be opening a new federally qualified health center to expand access to dental care.

8. Kaunakakai, Hawaii-based Molokai Community Health Center upgraded its dental clinic, adding three new operatories and dental equipment as well as providing additional dental services.
