The Harvard School of Dental Medicine is permanently closing one of its dental clinics in Cambridge, Mass., according to an Oct. 26 report from The Harvard Crimson

The dental clinic was temporarily closed in April following an electrical fire, which damaged the facility and dental equipment.

William Giannobile, DDS, the dental school’s dean, cited financial concerns in addition to the fire damage, as reasons for the closure.

The university will redirect dental services previously provided at the Cambridge clinic to its other location in Boston, the report said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
