Here are four dental lawsuit settlements Becker’s has covered since July 31:
1. Madison, Wis.-based First Choice Dental agreed to pay $1.2 million to settle a class action lawsuit stemming from its 2023 data breach.
2. An Iowa dentist who was accused of professional incompetence for the third time agreed to surrender his license as part of a settlement agreement with the Iowa Dental Board.
3. A Connecticut dentist agreed to pay $150,000 to settle allegations that she violated the federal False Claims Act.
4. Chicago-based Aspen Dental agreed to pay $18.7 million to settle allegations that it transmitted web user data to Meta and Google without users’ knowledge or consent.
