A Connecticut dentist has agreed to pay $150,000 to settle allegations that she violated the federal False Claims Act.
Nazneen Jaffri, DDS, allegedly paid a third-party patient recruiting company $116 for each Medicaid patient referred to her for services above routine preventive care, according to an Aug. 22 news release.
The Connecticut Office of the Attorney General stated that this is the fifth settlement that has come out of ongoing joint investigations between the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the HHS Department’s Office of Inspector General, and the FBI.
