A former employee at an Affordable Dentures & Implants location in Myrtle Beach, S.C., has been charged with stealing $612,990, WMBF reported Nov. 21.
Ashanti Kinney was arrested Nov. 18 and charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent.
Police officers began investigating after reportedly receiving a complaint from the dental company’s regional manager in August. Officials said Ms. Kinney allegedly marked patients as having paid for procedures but was keeping the money instead of depositing it into the practice’s bank account.
Ms. Kinney was released from jail on a $20,000 bond.
