Park Dental, which has more than 50 offices in Minnesota and Wisconsin, has reached a settlement in a class-action lawsuit stemming from its 2024 data breach.

The breach involved unauthorized access to a limited number of employee email accounts, during which certain information stored within the email accounts may have been viewed or accessed. The information that may have been accessed included names, demographic information, medical information, health insurance information and dates of birth.

Plaintiffs alleged in the lawsuit that the dental group failed to adequately protect private information.

The settlement agreement includes up to $300,000 in attorney fees, up to $2,500 for class representatives, credit monitoring and additional payments to eligible class members, according to court documents.

The dental group received preliminary court approval Sept. 29. A final approval hearing is scheduled for Feb. 1.

Park Dental is a subsidiary of Roseville, Minn.-based Park Dental Partners, which supports a total of 87 offices in three states. The parent company was also hit with a data breach at the end of August.
