Teledentistry provider suffers data breach

Dentistry.One, a teledentistry subsidiary of Mouthwatch, recently suffered a data breach. 

The company, which provides services through more than 43,000 dental practices and 30 DSOs in the U.S., disclosed the incident to the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General Dec. 23. 

Information affected by the breach includes Social Security numbers and drivers licenses, but the number of individuals affected was not disclosed.

The Strauss Borrelli law firm launched an investigation into the breach Dec. 29.
