El Paso-based Texas Tech Hunt School of Dental Medicine is launching an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.
High Desert Oral and Facial Surgery in El Paso, Texas, committed $250,000 to establish the High Desert Oral and Facial Surgery Endowed Professorship at the Hunt School of Dental Medicine for the program, according to a Feb. 27 news release from the school.
Texas Tech Health El Paso has matched the gift, creating a $500,000 endowed professorship.
Vernon Burke, DMD, MD, the founding director of the OMFS residency program, is expected to serve as the inaugural endowed professor, the release said.
