Medit launches global orthodontics division, acquires California training institute

Digital dentistry company Medit has launched a global orthodontics business and acquired Progressive Orthodontics in Aliso Viejo, Calif.

The new business will consist of the company’s complete orthodontic portfolio, including products, services and education, according to a May 7 news release. This includes Progressive Orthodontics, an orthodontic education institution.

Progressive Orthodontics has educated thousands of practitioners from more than 60 countries since its launch 40 years ago. The institute will continue to host seminars and training programs, but its curriculum will expand to include Medit’s digital solutions, the company said.

Medit USA’s headquarters in Newport Beach, Calif., will serve as the headquarters for the company’s new orthodontics division.
