Georgia dentist plans to reopen practice amid license suspension

A dental practice in Atlanta is planning to reopen, despite its dentist’s license currently under emergency suspension, according to a May 18 report from ABC affiliate WSB

Justin Scott, DMD, leader of Pure Dental Health, had his license suspended by the Georgia Board of Dentistry in March, saying he “poses a threat to the public health.”

The practice sent emails to patients regarding the reopening, even though a judge recently upheld Dr. Scott’s suspension.

The dental board made several allegations against Dr. Scott, including that he allowed unlicensed individuals to provide care, that his treatment of patients required corrections from other providers and that records for several patients failed to conform to standards.

The practice did not respond to WSB’s request for comment, the report said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
