Bridle Trails Family Dentistry in Kirkland, Wash., has notified nearly 21,000 current and former patients about a cybersecurity incident from 2024, according to a June 2 report from The HIPAA Journal.
In November 2024, an employee at the practice had their email accessed by an unauthorized individual. On March 12, 2026, the practice learned that the account contained personal and health information.
Information that may have been accessed includes full names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers and clinical, treatment or health insurance information, according to an April 10 notice from the practice.
At this time, Bridle Trails Family Dentistry has no evidence that any patient information has been misused as a result of the security incident.
