A former employee at Anamosa (Iowa) Dental Associates has been accused of using patient health savings account and debit card information for personal purchases, KCRG reported June 18.
Kathryn Eilers allegedly used two patients’ payment information to purchase GLP-1 weight loss drugs and items from online retailers, totaling roughly $4,000. She reportedly admitted to obtaining the payment information while employed at the practice. She was fired after notifying her employer of the first incident.
Ms. Eilers faces two counts of unauthorized use of a credit card over $1,500 and under $10,000.
Jones County Sheriff Greg Graver said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be filed.
