Dental AI company Pearl launched Second Opinion 3D, marking the first time Pearl’s imaging AI is available as a commercial product for general dentists.

Second Opinion 3D is a CBCT tool designed for general dental practices and is integrated into the same Second Opinion interface providers already use for 2D imaging, according to a Sept. 3 news release from Pearl.

The platform allows providers to request a report from an oral and maxillofacial radiologist, and automatically converts 3D findings into insurance claim-ready documentation.

Second Opinion 3D builds on a previous FDA clearance that covered Pearl’s AI for radiographic image analysis, which automatically identifies structures such as the mandible, maxillary complex, nasal space, airway, inferior alveolar nerve canal and individual teeth in CBCT scans, the release said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
