Royal Palm Beach, Fla.-based Novudentics has become the first dental practice to issue patients a Dental Passport — a portable, patient-owned digital record built by Intake Dental that travels with the patient rather than remaining in a single practice’s system.
The Dental Passport consolidates completed procedures, tooth charts, radiograph history, medications, allergies, insurance coverage, signed consents and a care plan in one shareable record. The passport also includes an implant registry with manufacturer and placement details.
Patients control who can access the record and can share it with any dentist via a link or scan. The passport can also be stored in Apple Wallet for check-in at participating practices, according to a Sept. 21 news release.
Practices issue passports through Intake Dental, which connects to existing practice management software.
