A fire destroyed Larry Black, DMD’s Quitman, Ga., office, leaving citizens of Brooks County without a local option for dental care, local CBS affiliate WCTV reports.

1. Dr. Black operated the only dentist’s office in the county.

2. Quitman resident Maurice Freeman said he hopes Dr. Black rebuilds his office. He said to WCTV: “My heart goes out to him. Not very many people like dentists. I definitely don’t, but I need him. He’s a great guy in this community.”

3. Dr. Black first opened his office a decade ago. He said he would work to reopen his Quitman office.

4. For now, Dr. Black will accommodate displaced patients in his Valdosta, Ga., office.
