Under the agreement, Executive Director Debra Shaffer-Kugel will receive six months of additional pay. General counsel Melanie Bernstein Chapman will collect three months of pay. The two are not responsible for showing up to meetings or the office in general.
Based on the last available salary information from the two staffers, the Review-Journal estimates that Ms. Shaffer-Kugel will collect $70,000 while Ms. Chapman will receive $28,000.
Ms. Shaffer-Kugel will also be able to receive health insurance benefits through August. Ms. Chapman will be eligible for health insurance coverage through May.
Ms. Shaffer-Kugel and Ms. Chapman signed their termination agreements Jan. 17. The agreement states that the two were terminated without cause. However, last year, the Review-Journal reported that the two members allegedly failed to discipline dentists and had conflicts of interest.
