The DLOSCE, designed to help dental boards protect public health, assesses dentists’ clinical judgment and skills using 3D models without the need for patients. Questions were developed to mirror situations in clinical practice.
Prometric worked with the commission to develop the DLOSCE and acts as the primary administrator for the exam in the U.S.
“The DLOSCE provides a comprehensive evaluation of the clinical judgment that is necessary to safely practice dentistry, advancing assessment technology and helping to address ethical concerns with current clinical licensure examinations,” said Kanthasamy Ragunanthan, DDS, chair of the JCNDE, said in a Feb. 24 news release.
